Will Estes doesn't mind being stuck in the '60s as J.J. Pryor, the football hero on American Dreams. "It was a classier time," says Will, 24. "I like how men wore suits and hats everywhere they went,
and that it was so much more family-oriented. Everyone would sit down together for dinner every night of the week."
That wasn't the case at his house when he was growing up in L.A., since he was always out auditioning or working. You may recognize him from short-lived TV shows like The New Lassie (his first
big role, at age 10) or Kirk with Kirk Cameron in 1995. Then again, maybe not.
Will was also in Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" video, playing a kid desperately trying to get to the band's concert. Since he'd worked with Jon Bon Jovi on the suspenseful submarine war movie U-571, he
didn't even have to audition for the part. "It was the first time a role was just handed to me," says Will. "It was really cool, and I liked the concept -- that the guy would do anything for his favorite band and
his girlfriend [played by Shiri Appleby]. I'm kind of the same way.
"I'm into all that sappy stuff -- a surprise picnic, nice dinner, or traveling. I'm kind of an old romantic." --P.A.
